1/21/16 Thursday Agenda

3rd Period Reading Students: We are going to an assembly tomorrow.  Please come to class as usual first and then I will take roll and take our class to the gym.

Here is a description describing the purpose of the assembly:

SMHS and ERHS students know they will never be perfect, but can be remarkable if they choose to be.

Assemblies featuring the “ithinkbig.org” organization are scheduled at both sites later this week. The presentations creativity encourage students to think “bigger”, and to think “deeper” with their lives.

The activities include life-changing illustrations of personal struggles and accomplishments, methods to make the right choices, motivational speakers and information about other topics such as bullying, drugs and gangs. More than 1,000 students are expected to participate.

Saint Activity Director Adrian Salazar knows students will find the supportive messages engaging.

“These are not your typical motivational speakers,’’ Salazar said. “Instead, it’s a team of people who have a purpose and that purpose is to inspire students to believe in themselves and think big regardless of their circumstances.’’

Warrior Activity Director Kelley DeBernardi said the assemblies also show students the importance of “goal setting” and “refusing to accept limits”.

Righetti ASB President Eden Hood is looking forward to the presentation.

“I think it’s a great opportunity for our students to learn about the importance of making positive life choices and surrounding yourself with supportive people,’’ said Hood, who is a senior.
